Introduction: Due to increased prevalence and mortality of prostate cancer and lack of chemo and radio therapy methods in advanced forms of the cancer, we need new solutions to control it. As prostate cancer is directly associated with changes in gene expression profiles among prostate epithelial cells, gene expression profiling in prostate tissue will greatly help in early detection of its cancer and appropriate therapeutic interventions. In this paper, we examined the gene expression profile of prostate cancer patients and introduce the most important genes affecting the incidence of this cancer.

Methods: This study was based on the data previously used on prostate gene expression (Wang et al., 2007). The data set included 136 samples and a set of 22283 genes analyzed using binary regression model and Bayesian selected genes.

Result: Ten genes were identified to have effect on prostate cancer: Heat shock Transcription Factor 2, Lipin-1, Lymphoete-Specific Protein Tyrosine Kinase, Collagen type VI, Acid phosphate, Ciplation Resistance Associated, CCAAT/Enhancer Binding Protein (c/EBT)Beta, Folate hydrolase (Prostate-Specific Membrane Antigen) 1, Inositol Polyphosphate 4, Interleukin 1.

Conclusion: Using gene expression profiles we can classify individuals in groups with or without prostate cancer.
